I'm Lucie, a qualified Science teacher and tutor, offering online Science tuition classes in the form of online GCSE booster sessions and resources.

Choosing whom to trust with supporting your child’s Science progress is a big decision, they only get one shot at education. I am happy to tell you about myself so you can make an informed choice.  

I live in Essex with my husband, children and my spaniels. In my spare time I like dog walks, sunshine and getting lost in a good book.

As a parent I know the stresses that come with children taking exams. I know the struggles with getting teens to revise productively, and know first hand how transformative getting them a tutor was in subjects that they needed support with.

I began teaching in 2005, following in the footsteps of my parents who were both highly successful teachers. I began my working life experiencing many other jobs first, from being a news reader on BFBS (British Forces Broadcasting Service) radio, to doing sales and marketing for a luxury health spa. 

I completed my PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) and gained my qualified teacher status, topping up my Biology degree. 

I worked hard in schools in both Kent and Essex and became Head of Department, then lead practitioner, Director of core subjects, and Director of Teaching and Learning. Having worked in these positions and having responsibility for whole school teaching and learning has only strengthened my belief that education is transformative. I always find joy in helping young people make leaps in their educational journey.

Science has always fascinated me, and my inquisitive nature means I am always interested in the latest scientific and technological developments. Scientific developments shape the world we live in and will continue to do so as climate change becomes an ever-increasing issue. Helping pupils progress in their GCSE is one way I can use my vast knowledge of the curriculum and convey my love of science. I have no doubt that your child will find this enthusiasm infectious, and their results will improve as a direct result.

For many years, I had the privilege of working as a qualified science teacher in traditional classroom settings. I witnessed first hand the transformative power of education and the tremendous impact a dedicated teacher can have on students' lives. However, I soon realised that I wanted to expand my reach and support students beyond the confines of a physical classroom.

Driven by my enthusiasm for teaching and my desire to make quality education accessible to all, I transitioned to online tutoring. Embracing the technological advancements and the immense potential of virtual learning, I created Eaglesmith Education to provide personalised and effective online tutoring services for students of all ages.

As a science tutor, my goal is to instill in my students a sense of curiosity and a love for scientific exploration. I firmly believe that science is not only a subject to be studied, but a lens through which we can better understand the world around us. By fostering critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a solid foundation of scientific knowledge, I aim to empower my students to excel in their academic pursuits and beyond.
